Privacy And Security Policy
The following lays out our privacy and security policy; we
are committed to complying with the Canadian Personal
Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act. You can
view the Act and other information about privacy at the website
of the
Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
You can visit the Georgian Triangle Housing Resource Centre
site without registering or providing any personal information.
We do not automatically gather personal information from you,
such as your name, phone number, e-mail or address and we do not
permanently store cookies (small files with a unique personal
code) on your computer.
If you want to contact us we make an appointment for one of
our staff to meet with you. At this time the staff member will
ask you to provide us with personal information such as your
name, phone number, e-mail address, and the nature of housing
issue. This information may be used to:
- [collect general statistics and aggregate reports for
internal use and for sharing with advertisers, sponsors,
providers, sub-contractors, and associated companies. (These
statistics and reports will not contain any personally
identifiable information. Your identity is kept anonymous.) ]
The information you provide will, of course, be protected
under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic
Documents Act. Strict confidentiality will also be maintained
under our confidentiality policy. These rules require our staff
members to hold in strict confidence all information concerning
the affairs of clients acquired in the course of their
professional relationship and not to divulge the information
unless authorized by the client or required by law to do so.
We will not disclose your non-aggregated personal information
to any third parties without your prior permission. However, we
reserve the right to:
- cooperate with local, provincial and national officials in
any investigation requiring either personal information or
reports about lawful or unlawful user activities on the
Georgian Triangle Housing Resource Centre site;
- disclose any information about an individual's information
(without consent) if it is necessary: (i) to comply with any
law, regulation or government request; and (ii) to protect the
rights or property of the Georgian Triangle Housing Resource
Centre or its users, sponsors, providers, or associated
companies.
